I managed to find a new job - a secretarial position at my local community college. Not my ideal, but it pays the rent, right? My coworkers are nice, and the students are, too, but we obviously haven't gotten to the "Let's share what we've done over the weekend" part of our camaraderie development. But then, I also just got this job, and it's understandable that I want to keep it as long as possible.
Which brings me to the next happy part of my life. I met the most wonderful woman. A mutual friend introduced us, and I think my heart stopped. I haven't said anything yet, but I do know that she's gay like me, so I do have a chance. The only thing really holding me back is Beth. I know, I know. SHE broke up with ME and I thought I was over that -- it was in August. I've had just about five months to get over her. Part of me feels like it's a betrayal, you know? I really did love her. We were together for two and a half years! I am getting tired of being tied to the memory of what we had once, though. It's painful.
I may just go for it... Or I'll wait a bit...
I'll let you (if anyone IS reading this) know what happens.

"I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life... to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." -Henry David Thoreau
